Costco is undoubtedly an important hub for your shopping needs. Costco members have the ability to select from various membership tiers which best fit your needs.
However, what about the perks they offer with highest-ranking Executive Memberships–for example, do customers have different shopping hours? I looked further into Executive Memberships and here is what I found out.
Costco has no exclusive time for Executive Members to shop in Costco before the general public since 2022. It was once a perk available to members at that level, however it appears to have been gradually discontinued by many Costco stores.
Costco – Executives get early entry
Gold Star and Executive members had access to the shop one hour earlier than Gold Star, which gave them more shopping time with far fewer customers.
This is not the case anymore. All Costco members are permitted to enter the store during opening hours, which is at 10:00 AM on Mondays and Sundays. Saturdays it’s at 9:30 AM.
Some warehouses do try to open about 15 minutes before the posted time, especially if it is the day before a big holiday.
This can differ from location to location, so doors should be locked until they are opened.
What’s Costco’s Executive Membership?
Costco offers the Executive Membership, which is the top tier among all membership options.
An Executive Membership is available to members who wish to upgrade for an additional $60.
Costco offers Executive Membership benefits.
Customers who upgrade their Executive Membership receive certain benefits that are not offered to others.
Although the added hour is not longer possible, members who sign up for this program receive:
Special Discounts for Executive Members – Additional savings on services: Auto servicing, insurance and real estate programs, as well as roadside assistance.
Exclusive offers and Extra Discounts.
The 2% Cashback–This is applicable to all purchases except alcohol and tobacco. In order to make the $60 perk pay for your tier, you must spend $3,000 per annum. That is a reasonable amount for groceries or household supplies.

Though Costco used to offer their Executive Members access to stores one hour earlier than other members, this is no longer the case.
Is Costco open to members?
Costco Business Centers can open earlier than Costco warehouses. Open Monday to Friday 7 am.m. to 6 pm. Saturday 7 am.m. to 4 pm.
