Is Walmart going to take over Apple Pay in 2022?
Walmart no longer accepts Apple Pay in their stores, as of 2022. Instead, customers can use their iPhones for purchases through WalmartPay at self-checkout and registers. Walmart will accept only MasterCards and Visas.
You will need to install the Walmart Pay App onto your iPhone.
Simply scan the QR code to access Walmart Pay.
Walmart Pay may not be as easy as Apple Pay but it is the best option that lets customers pay digitally without having to take their wallets or purses everywhere.
Why doesn’t Walmart accept Apple Pay?
Before the company came out with Walmart Pay, they had another reason not to accept Apple Pay. Their loyalty to Merchant Customer Exchange, or MCX was the reason.
The company (MCX) only takes payment solutions that use QR codes called CurrentC. Walmart has stopped using MXC, as it’s a competitor to Apple Pay.
Walmart also refuses Apple Pay due to the inability to collect any customer information when they make a purchase.
This information is incredibly valuable as it allows Walmart to send custom recommendations and notifications to customers who use the Walmart Pay app.
Apple Pay is coming to Walmart.
Walmart spokesperson said they have no plans to support Apple Pay. Walmart Pay works right in your iPhone app so there is no need for Apple Pay.
Apple Pay Accepted in Which Stores?
Apple Pay does not work at Walmart. You can however use Apple Pay in any of the thousands of other shops to buy groceries.
CVS and 7-11 now accept Apple Pay for checkouts. They had been resisting the app for some time, but they gave up recently. The following retailers accept Apple Pay.

You can actually use Apple Pay to shop at Walmart. Your Apple Pay app can be used with the ibotta application and extension. To successfully use ibotta, you just have to:
Ibotta, an eCorp cashback reward program that gives you up to 2% for every purchase, is called eCorp Cashback Rewards. However, it only works for certain items and at certain stores. It is important that you locate and access the products on your phone in order to shop.
But when you do use it, you can use your Apple Pay and get cashback instantly (via saving 2%), and all you have to do is show the QR code to the cashier.
Affirm, which is an installment financing option that you can use to shop online at Walmart, will also be available. Affirm can be used as an installment finance option, just like credit payments.
The financing app can be used to instantly get financing if your credit is approved. Your balance will then be repaid in 3-6 or 12 month periods.
Affirm eCommerce loans are comparable to layaway. Many items will be exempt from interest. However, items that do not qualify for that option can have an annual percentage rate (APR) of 10 to 30%. Creditworthiness will affect the amount of the APR.

Apple Pay: How Beneficial is It?
Apple Pay allows you to make purchases without worrying about your PIN being stolen. You can also check out without a chip reader or card reader on your iPhone.
Face ID or Touch ID are also options to increase security. There are three kinds of sensors used by Face ID to scan your skin.

Instantly, get your money back with every purchase. You also receive 2% cashback if your Apple Card is used with Apple Pay. You save money with the Apple Card, but you also get 2% cashback when you use Apple Pay.
