Creality Ender3 V2 Review: An Entry-Level 3D Printer.

Creality Ender 3 V2

Creality Ender 3 in improved form for 2020. The Ender 3 quickly gained popularity in the 3D printing industry and became a standard 3D printer. The Ender 3 quickly became a popular 3D printer thanks to its active users who began to customize it. Creality combined some of these community contributions to produce the Ender 3 V2.

The Creality Ender 3 V2 is a direct competitor to many other 3D printers on the market, with its 8″x8″x10″ build volume and a cost of under $300. Its price-performance ratio makes it an attractive entry level printer. If you’re looking to purchase a machine like the Ender 3, you also have to ask the question of whether the improvements in the Ender 3 V2 are worth the added cost over the original Ender 3.

Without spoiling the ending, we feel that the Creality Ender 3 V2 3D-printer is worthwhile and an excellent entry-level 3D machine. We’ll be giving you an overview of all the features and highlighting what we love and dislike about this printer in our review.

Printing with the Ender3 V2

It is significantly better than the predecessor version’s screen. The only downside is that the viewing angle is rather narrow.

This is perhaps the most important part of the review what is it actually like to print with the Creality Ender 3 V2? The experience was pleasant and very enjoyable, according to us.

The first thing we noticed after turning the machine on is that it’s very quiet. You will still hear the fan noise of the printer’s power supply fan. The only noise it makes is that of the power supply fan. When moving or extruding, the motors of the printer make no additional noise. This is a significant improvement on the original Ender 3 printer and other older Creality printers. The quiet operation means that the Ender 3 V2 will be much less disruptive if you often spend time in the room while it’s running. All of our printers would love to be as quiet.

The user interface screen of the Ender 3 V2 is another notable upgrade. The V2’s full-graphical LCD display is a marked improvement on the text-based Ender 3. It presents information in an easier to read way, and it has a polished appearance. Although a touchscreen LCD would have been great, Creality needed to keep costs down on other aspects of the V2’s machine. Very intuitive and user-friendly, the interface is easy to use. The only problem is the LCD’s viewing angle. Creality uses a dim gray color sometimes to identify which UI element has been selected. Sometimes it is difficult to identify which option you have if the LCD isn’t viewed directly.

The calibration of the Ender 3 V2 is not required right out of box. The main thing you will need to do is level the print bed while some of Creality’s higher-end machines offer auto leveling, the Ender 3 V2 does not. Adjust the bed-leveling knobs by hand to get the height desired. It’s easy and there is even a step-by-step guide available on our site. No issues have been reported with the leveling of our beds.

Even though the Ender 3 V2 isn’t equipped with automatic bed levels, this device can be used to adjust your mattress, thanks to these large knobs.

The Ender 3 V2 can print 3D models from either an SD card, or via USB cable. This second option lets you connect to either a computer, or to a raspberry pi running OctoPrint. We tested the SD card with no problems printing and loading models.

Upgrade Potential of The Ender3 V2

The hot end fan housing is new on this model. The look is great, along with the one-screw securement.

Without discussing upgrade options, it would be remiss for us to examine any Ender 3 printer. While the Ender 3 V2 has many of the popular upgrades that Ender 3 users have made to their printers, you can still make improvements if the printer is tinkering with. These upgrades weren’t performed by us for the review. We did however evaluate which upgrade options would work best with this new printer.

Because the Ender 3 V2 remains a basic Creality printer, it is likely many upgrades that are available will be able to work. You should be aware that V2 electronics are 24V similar to original Ender 3. You should ensure that you purchase a 24V hot end/heated bed if possible.

Creality’s old machines had a fan assembly that was different. It is made out of plastic with a natural, organic look. This design has one advantage: you can only remove one screw. It makes it easier to change nozzles and hot ends. Although new parts such as this are concerning from the standpoint of replacing them, we have no reason to think that it will fail.

The extruder upgrades are a promising upgrade that would bring about some significant improvements. The extrusion strength of the printer would be improved by a simple metal extruder. This will likely increase reliability when printing with lower quality filament. A dual-gear extruder could be installed with fully supported filament. The printer would also be more stable with flexible materials and easier to load. This type of upgrade has a downside. You would have to modify the E-steps in your printer firmware or slicer software to make this work. It’s not something we think is worthwhile, but this option exists on the printer.

Ender 3 V2: Is it reliable?

This workhorse is exceptional for its price. It has outstanding quality and reliability. For beginners, the Ender 3 V2 should be considered. ).

Is The Ender 3 V2 Worth The Extra Money?

The Ender 3 V2 3D Printer is far superior than the original and it’s well worth paying the added cost for the upgrade. These issues are normal for a budget printer, so be ready to upgrade your 3D printer as needed. The Ender 3 V2 wins this comparison overall and clearly outperforms the Ender 3. Sep 27, 2020

Is It Worth It To Buy The EnderV2?

Both have similarities to the previous model, but it’s worth upgrading to because of the additional push provided by the Ender 3 V2 Amazon/BangGood. It is certainly more friendly for beginner users.

Does The Ender 3 V2 Work Well for Beginners?

The Creality Ender 3 V2 is the best “cheap” 3D printer in 2021 for beginners (like us) – who are cost conscious (with a budget of less than $300), don’t mind having to assemble a printer, and value the flexibility an open-source 3D printer like the Creality Ender 3 series offers in terms of the ability to make future …Jan 2, 2021
