Costco discontinued its passport photo printing service in all US stores on 14 February, 2021.
Costco blamed a dramatic decline in consumer demand as a result of the rise of cameras phones and social networking.
Costco stores stopped printing passport photos and it was not just that.
All services for photo were dropped from in-store photo centres.
However, some services and products can still be accessed through Costco Photo Center.
Costco was actually closing some of their in-store photo studios as soon as 2019.
In January however, it was revealed that they would shut down the remaining facilities in one go in the next calendar month.
Where can I get passport photos taken?
There are many convenient places you can visit if you require new photos for your passport, or any other form of identification.
This can include supermarkets, post offices and drug stores. To make things even easier, try the following:
Costco Has Discontinued Other Photo Services?
Costco has ceased offering other photo services like standard printing in Costco stores as of February 2021.
You may still be able to print photographs online using the Costco Photo Center website. However, you cannot access more specific services offered by Costco.
These included photo restoration, home video transfers, and ink cartridge refilling.
Costco is no longer offering passport printing or any other photo services. In recent years, there was a significant drop in demand for these services, making their continuation in-store untenable.
However, you can still access some photo services and products through the Costco Photo Center website, including personalized cards and wall art. If you need a passport photo taken, though, you will have to go to one of many other stores that offer the service.
