Apparently Dentists Can Tell If You’Ve Been Giving Head

Did you have a head exam recently? Your dentist might know.

Michael Edwards/Getty Images. Generally, any information you give to someone is only shared between yourself and the recipient. If you wake up, perform oral sex on a partner, then casually stroll into work, your coworkers won’t be able to tell how you spent your morning just by looking at you. If, on the other hand, you wake up, perform oral sex on a partner, then stroll into the dentist’s office and open wide, your dentist might be able to tell what you were up to.

This disturbing and potentially alarming revelation comes from TikTok. TikTok is where many oral health professionals have posted videos recently confirming an old rumor about the ability of dentists to detect if you have had a specific sex organ removed.

Huzefa Kapadia posted a video showing how dentists sometimes can tell whether a patient had oral sex with a penis-having companion. This is due to something called palatal Petechiae. It’s bruising of soft-palate which can happen when oral sex is frequent and aggressive. According to Kapadia it is not likely that a single or more oral sex sessions would cause the sign. However, if a patient likes to eat many, many, several, multi-colored lollipops at once, then there might be a problem.

Brad Podray (orthodontist) said, in another TikTok clip, that it is possible to tell “sometimes we can determine”. It’s typically bruising to the soft palate, called petechiae. But unless the patient’s really young or shows signs of abuse, we don’t care.” Dental hygienist and TikTok user @MandiMaeee also chimed in to the oral sex dentistry discourse, explaining that while a dentist isn’t going to be able to tell whether or not you’ve ever done the deed just by looking at your mouth, performing recent or intense fellatio might leave you vulnerable to detection. To say that you could tell me if it was three years ago. In the video, she stated that “No”. She said, “But, if your act was recent and aggressive… You might get bruising on the palate.” This is a good thing. It’s not the dentist’s concern what type of sex is being had with whom and when, but they may not care. However, if there is a sign that you have performed recently and you do not want to go into a dentist’s office with it, consider taking fewer steps on your oral cleanings for a couple of days before you make an appointment.

TikTok video created by user “thyrants” begins with the assertions that “the doctor can check whether someone has given [head].” It ends with what appears like an actual person sitting in a tooth chair, discussing the realities of “fellatio–associated erythema, the soft palate.” According to the man seated, “Sometimes it is possible to tell.” “It is usually bruising on your soft palate called Petechiae. However unless the victim’s young or shows signs of abuse we don’t pay much attention.” @thyrants @cianmcbrien Yes, but it won’t be a problem.

#dentist#oralhealth Original sound by Lil Young Old Men Based on data from the 1920s and beyond, fellatio may leave visible marks or lesions that are usually small. These spots can be caused by bleeding called petechiae within the mouth. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that such outcomes are common. Dental professionals can often determine if the act has been performed.

, the first report of fellatio-induced mouth lesions was published in the French Journal of Venereal Diseases. Recalling this case in 2017, the 2017 paper said the paper stood out for being the first. However, it also featured the excitement with which the corresponding doctor explained the case. This involved a female sex worker who was extremely dedicated to his work. In a 2017 paper translated from French, the doctor described the patient’s character as a “conscientious spouse” who “had attached himself to work like an Octopus to its prey.” A TikTok video features a case report from 2018, which describes a 47year-old-man suffering from a lesion found during a dental examination.

While inspecting the mouth, we discovered a round-shaped erythematous cyst with clear central area on the patient’s soft tongue. The patient wasn’t symptomatic but was unaware that the lesion existed. … The patient confirmed that he was sexually active. One of his sexual activities was oral sex. His last encounter occurred three days prior. This information led us to conclude that the erythema of the soft palate is related to the practice or oral sex.

several case reports like these can be found in the scientific record. According to a 2013 report that summarized the literature on fellatio-associated oral lesions, there is likely more than one mechanism of injury from the sex act. “Direct and forceful contact of the distal penis against the palate may result in mucosal injury with rupture of submucosal vessels and hemorrhage,” the authors reported in that paper . As described in 2018, the other possible cause could be the negative pressure that is created by sucking, which could also cause damage to tissues in the mouth.

There is little evidence that fellatio can cause lesions, even though there are limited studies in this area. TikTok featured the 2018 TikTok study. This study cited a thesis on Peruvian sexual workers. The study found that only 17 of the 132 had fellatio related lesions. While the rest of the workers did not suffer any injuries, most fellatio-related lesion were asymptomatic. The lesions typically are resolved on their own. While these aren’t meant to say your dentist can make up deep details about your sexual history, they do suggest that an oral injury could be considered in the event of someone complaining of undiagnosed or unusual mouth symptoms. “Those working in the area of head and neck medicine should consider fellatio as an addition to the differential aetiology of intraoral petechiae,” a 2013 case report concluded The observation of petechiae in the mouth could be the result of several non-fellatio related causes, as well. It is also inaccurate to claim that dentists can diagnose oral sex. If a dentist examines the patients and combines their medical and sexual histories, they may be able to diagnose fellatio related injuries. “Because the fellatrix or fellator may be unaware of the etiology of the lesions or may be reluctant to provide these details of the sexual history,” the 2013 case report argued , “the clinician needs to have a high index of suspicion based on the patient’s clinical presentation and collaborating history of preceding fellatio.” Because there are several causes for petechiae in the mouth and because most acts of fellatio do not leave marks, the claim that a dentist can tell if you have or have not performed oral sex on a penis is “Mostly False.” Those caveats aside, some acts of fellatio could potentially be detected by a dentist when observations of lesions are combined with a patient’s own medical and sexual history.

You can schedule your bi-yearly dental examination anyway

We know that dentists are often dreadful for many reasons. This shouldn’t be another reason why you delay getting checked out about your cavity or gum disease. It’s not easy to remember to care for ourselves, even though we are terrible parents. It’s not that big a deal.

Is it really that important for a physician to know if you recently gave head? HIPAA prohibits them from saying anything. But, you are an adult. If it is causing serious health issues, such as oral lesions, then they will not discuss the matter with you.

Another option to lifestyle change is to not eat sand for 5-7 days prior to your dental visits twice each year. It’s more difficult for some people than for others.

But, be honest. Do what feels right for you.

It’s a completely different recommendation than the one to stop having sex within two days of your OB/GYN appointment. Since semen can alter pap smears results (apparently, sperm present in the sample may make it more challenging to examine you cervical cells), can resemble troubled discharge and cause irritation your vaginal membrane cells. Thus, it could appear as if your pap smear is abnormal.

This is what your Dentist can do: Tell if You Have Been Given a Blowjob Before

There is no such thing as sacred anymore. It turns out your dentist has more information about you than the details that you have provided on your patient forms. TikTok’s user, who made an astonishing claim that dentists can detect when a patient is doing a blowjob, went viral a few days back. This story was first published on […] on May 1, 2021. It turns out your dentist can see a lot about your personal life, even more than the information you put on your patient forms. TikTok user made shocking claims about dentists being able to see when someone has done a blowjob.

First reported on BuzzFeed, TikToker @cianmcbrien wrote in their new video: “JUST FOUND OUT THE DENTIST CAN FIND OUT WETHER SOMEONE HAS GIVEN [HEAD] OR NOT. IM SCREAMINGGGGG.” This claim is getting crazy on the app and eventually dentists and hygienists weighed in.

IM CRYING #fyp – with Music Basstrologe bootsleg – mthekyng. “And it’s usually bruising on the soft palate called petechiae. However, we won’t bother if the patient is really young or signs of abuse. #dentist #oralhealth “Hey, I’m a registered dental hygienist. “Let’s discuss this,” @mandimaeee, a TikTok user responded with another viral video. “So I received this video from a friend and thought, ‘Oh, my God! This is true.’ You’re right. It’s not,” she added.

If you have done it in the past and were very aggressive, it might be possible for some people to bruise their palates. It’s possible to determine if it was done recently.

I have been going to Angel Care Dental since I was a young child… so quite a while 😉 and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The facility is beautiful, the care and gentle touch mean everything to me because I don’t like going to the dentist – who does? But it’s different here and I leave feeling genuinely happy. Mihaela is the BEST hygienist and Dr Galo is kind and extremely gentle. Even a root canal isn’t half bad with Dr Galo! Dr Soraya is also wonderful! Thanks Angel Care. ☺️ – Tara H
