All Home Depot Associates, part-time and full-time can get employee benefits. However, the benefits you are entitled to may depend on the amount of hours you work.
To receive full-time employee benefits, an associate must work an excess of 20 hours per week, with part-time benefits given to those that work under this amount weekly.
Can Home Depot Employees Earn Discounts?
Home Depot employees cannot receive employee discounts. However, Home Depot offers merit and award programs for high-performing employees.
This award can be in the form of a bonus or a raise in pay. You may also have the option to embellish your apron using an award badge that will allow customers to recognise your accomplishments.
Home Depot Workers Get Paid a Commission
Home Depot employees get no commission as their sales may vary from small to large.
Instead of being recognized for their contributions to large sales numbers, the merit system and bonus system will recognize them.
Each milestone accomplishment an employee achieves earns them a financial bonus and they can display a Homer badge on their apron so customers will see it.

What Hardware Stores Offer Employee Discounts
If you seek a position at a store that provides an employee discount through its benefits package, you may wish to work at Lowe’s.
Lowe’s associates receive a 10% discount applicable for full-price in-store purchases and online using an employee discount card.
Lowe’s associate discount program is also available to employees.
The online marketplace allows employees to buy various products and services including vacations and insurances.
Lowe’s associates are not allowed to use this platform. However, they can purchase merchandise for their friends and families. Nearly $5,000 can be saved each year by employees who use the platform.
Lowe’s is not the only retailer that offers employee discounts.
Ace Hardware: 10% at first, then the wholesale price or 10-20% discount. Benefits may vary between stores.
