If you’re a Safeway customer, perhaps you’re wondering if you can order groceries from Safeway through Instacart? Keep reading for my findings!

What is Safeway Instacart 2022?

Instacart.com makes it possible for customers of Safeway to buy groceries. You can choose which grocery items you would like, add it in your cart, and then select when they will be delivered. Instacart customers can also tip their delivery driver which Safeway Delivery hasn’t yet.

Safeway Instacart: How does it work?

Safeway Instacart orders are possible through either the Instacart website or app. Order groceries from Safeway by simply entering your location.

Customers can then browse through the app for the groceries they require. Instacart will pair customers with personal shoppers once the order is placed.

Once the personal shopper has gathered all the items on the customers’ list, they will have them delivered to their house. Instacart offers both regular and contactless delivery.

Instacart orders can only be placed by following these steps

1. Instacart accounts must be created first. Instacart users can create accounts to store their items, but customers cannot order groceries until they have an account.

2. The next step is to locate and purchase the products that customers desire. You can search for products by using the search bar, or locate them by department.

3. Once customers have located their products, they can add them to their cart. Customers can add groceries to their shopping cart by pressing +Add or Remove from Cart. They can adjust the quantity of the item by using the + or – buttons.

4. Customer are encouraged to inspect their basket items and their total after choosing groceries. This will ensure they have the right products. You can access your cart information by clicking the green Cart icon.

5. Customers need to confirm the details of their order once they have checked the cart. They will need to choose a delivery day. These can range from as soon as 1 hour the day before or as late as the following day. These are the delivery options:

Delivery window (customized time)

Fast & Flexible delivery (Standby for next available delivery driver)

Priority delivery (arrives in 60 min or less)

6. Once order details are verified customers can now add their payment and delivery information. Once those have been added, they can place their order and await their grocery delivery.

Does Safeway Offer Same-Day Delivery on Instacart?

Instacart orders placed at Safeway will be delivered the same day. Your order will be processed in no more than one hour.

Instacart users are encouraged to set up notifications and look for messages and phone calls from their driver to make certain that orders arrive on-time.

Also, customers are asked to provide helpful directions to delivery drivers in order to help them find the right place for their groceries.

Instacart makes it possible for members of the Safeway Club Card/ Just for U Rewards to redeem their reward cards while shopping at grocery stores.

When customers select Safeway as the store they’re shopping from, a pop-up at the bottom of the screen will ask for their Just For U Rewards card information.

You can add your Just For U Rewards to the right-hand side where you see the Safeway logo.

The logo can be accessed by clicking the Earn With Just for Us Rewards link.

How much more expensive is Instacart than Safeway Delivery?

According to previous Instacart and Safeway Delivery shoppers, Instacart charges slightly more for Safeway products than Safeway’s delivery service.

Additionally, according to one previous customer, they found there was a $20 price increase when using Instacart in comparison to Safeway Delivery for their total grocery bill.

Safeway does require that Safeway customers spend $49 for every order. This is in contrast to Instacart which only asks Safeway customers spending $10.

Additionally, the delivery fee for Safeway Instacart is usually only up to $6, while Safeway Delivery is $9.95.

Safeway Instacart has a higher grocery delivery fee than Safeway Delivery. However, the fees and additional requirements for Safeway Instacart are less than regular Safeway Delivery.

What is the Safeway Instacart Delivery Price?

Safeway Instacart delivery charges are quite affordable. Orders $35 or more qualify for free delivery

However, fees may vary for orders that are below $35 or that have a one-hour delivery time. Service charges can vary depending upon the order and customer location.

A separate charge is made for service fees on alcoholic beverages.

Customers can get free shipping by signing up for Instacart express. With this premium account, customers can get free delivery or lower shipping fees.

Customers also have the option to tip their delivery driver, which is added to their order total and goes directly to the driver who served them.

What is the Difference Between Instacart and Safeway Delivery?

Safeway Instacart & Safeway Delivery are two grocery delivery options that Safeway and Albertsons offer. These services have slight differences.

Instacart: How do you place an Aldi order?

Instacart account is required first. Sign up at www.Instacart.com or download it from your app store. Follow these instructions to establish an account.

A debit/credit card and your electronic benefit transfer card (EBT), are required to be added to your account.

Instacart can show you the locations from which you can shop once you’ve provided your address. You can choose the one you prefer, and Instacart will show you which stores you can shop from.

You should also pay attention to how many items are being sold. You can buy bananas by their quantity or weight in pounds. The option to modify the size and quantity of the item is available by clicking the link.

Perhaps you think you are ordering 10 bananas. However, the truth is that 10 pounds of food will be in your hands if you don’t pay attention.

Once your list is complete, you can head to the check-out. A delivery order must be placed at least $35. Pick-up orders require a pickup order to qualify for a discount of $10.

The small, green-and-white card icon is located at the upper right hand corner of your app. You can click it to view your card or “Go to checkout.”

In checkout, confirm delivery/pick-up. Choose from time slots available. Verify your contact details and verify your method of payment. Then go over your cart again before placing an order.

(This is also where you can enter delivery notes, like where they should leave the bags or whether or not you want them to knock.)

Scrolling down below the total you will find “Add promo codes or gift cards” which is a great option, especially for first-time shoppers. Most promotions are for free delivery.

A confirmation message will appear on your app, website and email after your order is submitted.

Then you wait for your Aldi shopper to start. When someone starts, you will receive another notification. This is your signal to watch your cart. Aldi shoppers will be extremely friendly.

Due to the fluctuating nature of Aldi’s stocking, it’s best to have your phone or web browser open during shopping. This will allow you to quickly answer any questions or if there are problems with an item.

You can be sure that if your shopping cart doesn’t contain everything you need, the shop assistant can help you get close enough or give you a full refund.

Also of note, if your pick-up or delivery is set between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., but your shopper starts at 1 p.m., don’t worry about your items!

Aldi’s inventory is stored in the correct cooler/freezer up until items are delivered or removed to your vehicle.

This app keeps you informed about all steps of your delivery and pick-up so there are no surprises. If you opted for delivery, oftentimes your driver will send you a photo of your items where he or she left them.

Aldi will even pay an extra for grocery orders when they use Instacart. They state that “in some cases, the prices of Instacart items may be more expensive to pay for personal delivery.”

Instacart’s website states that although many stores offer daily store prices through Instacart. However, there are some retailers who may place prices on Instacart that are not the same as in-store.

Aldi will still do its best to lower the price of groceries in Instacart over in-store Aldi.

How do you pay for Aldi Instacart Orders

When you sign up for Instacart you are prompted to add a debit or credit card, or you can also use Apple or Google Pay. Aldi added EBT payment to Instacart recently.

It’s worth noting that while customers can pay for their SNAP-eligible groceries with EBT, delivery/pick-up fees and other service charges must be paid for separately with a debit or credit card.

There are no options to pay by cash, Venmo (PayPal), or the WIC Program.

Aldi Offers Bags with Instacart Orders

Aldi will give bags to you with Instacart order. However, like stores, they charge extra for these bags.

You can see this reflected on your finalized receipt, where it says “Checkout Bag Tax or Fee.”

Although it’s an extra fee, expect to pay less than $1 and as little as a dime to quarter depending on how many bags are required.

Do You Have To Be Home For Your Aldi Instacart Delivery?

You do not have to be home for your Aldi Instacart delivery, but Aldi has no way of keeping your refrigerated/freezer items cold until you get home.

Either order non-perishables if you can’t be home for hours or plan to be there when the driver drops off your order.

How Do You Pick Up Your Aldi Instacart Order?

Aldi, Instacart and other companies have made it easier to pick up your bags. Your app can be opened right before leaving and you can “On My Way” to let your employees know you arrived.

Once you reach the area, park your vehicle in its designated pickup spot. This area will be marked with brightly colored, number-coded parking spaces.

After you have parked your car, click the “I am Here” button.

So that customers know where to send their order, they can also input make, model, as well as color information.

This app will guide you through every step, from collecting your bag to bringing it out.

Roll down your window so they can ask where you’d like the bags. Once they tell you you’re all set, that’s it! Instacart should send you a thank-you message on your mobile phone.

Instacart offers an app that allows users to send issues directly.

You will receive a prompt asking for you to rate your latest transaction. There you will be able to choose “Get assistance” to guide you through the process.

A problem with an Aldi past order can be reported if this happens more than one week later. To submit a problem, simply visit the Instacart App’s main webpage and tap the three horizontal dots in the upper-left corner.

Click on “Your orders” to display your last transaction. Each one will have a “Get help” button you can choose. The app will navigate you through the process.

Instacart can usually refund you quickly if you aren’t satisfied with an order. Instacart allows you to keep any item that you haven’t ordered. Stores cannot take it back, so you don’t need to do anything other than let Instacart.

You can return any item that you haven’t received within a reasonable time frame at an Aldi shop.
