Amazon offers a range of policies to warehouse workers. These include their policy on time off and their conduct and ethics policy.

Amazon Workers Cannot Work in Bad Weather
Amazon workers are allowed to refuse work in almost all states if the weather is unsafe, as with heavy snow or icy roads.
Amazon has a provision for staff members who have to miss work due to weather, which is allowing them to call into HR and use their UPT (Unpaid Time Off) to account for their missed shift.
Additionally, Amazon will refund the UPT to the employee later on, which prevents the employee from losing any eligible time off due to unprecedented weather conditions.
Amazon employees are also allowed to pick PTO (Paid time Off) for working late so they don’t lose their entire work day. However, this time off will not be refunded to the employee.
The good news is that most states allow workers to refuse to work in adverse weather. However, Arkansas and other states have the right to allow their employers to dismiss employees for any reason.
It is recommended that prospective staff become familiar with the local labor laws in order to find out if their jobs are at risk if they choose to refuse work due to bad weather.
Amazon workers must schedule their time for adverse weather
Amazon employees who cannot make it to work because of bad weather but the fulfillment center is open are expected to notify HR.
Staff must book either PTO or UPT in order to correctly call in.
The UPT is refunded to staff who booked off the time, so staff won’t have to lose any of their paid time.
Can Amazon Fire Employees For Missing Work Due to Weather Conditions?
Amazon workers may have the right to fire their supervisors depending on where they are situated.
Arkansas is one example of a state where the employer must agree to weather conditions that are unsafe to travel or drive in. They can also refuse to call-in employees if this does not happen.
If staff are worried about the weather in their region, they should check local laws concerning staff termination and talk to their Amazon supervisor.
Employers should be aware that they are entitled to refuse work due to bad weather in almost all cases.
That said, employees need to be ready for the possibility of being refused work by Amazon’s supervisors.
Amazon Is Safe to Work in Bad Weather?
How the Amazon fulfillment center employees are employed will affect how they show up at work.
According to varied sources, certain Amazon centers have remained open during floods, severe snowstorms and other treacherous conditions, and still expected their staff members to show up to work.
