Empire Bluecross Blueshield Announces New Dental Products
NEW YORK — Empire BlueCross BlueShield introduced two new dental products specifically for New York Large Groups with labor and trust markets in mind. Empire Dental Enhanced Care, a managed-care product, and Empire Dental XPO a product that provides PPO coverage. The dental insurance products are available for purchase immediately for April 1, 2017 effective dates.
Empire Dental Enhanced Care (a managed care plan) is offered on a voluntary and fully-insured basis. This policy provides complete coverage for all fully-insured individuals when they visit a participating dentist. You have three plan options, with a $0 per-office visit copay and no to moderate copays. Take-home teeth whitening and medically necessary child orthodontia are included in all options. Optional benefits such as child or adult/child cosmetic orthodontia and implant placement are available for an additional premium. The Enhanced Care program provides benefits for Empire New York members, but not internationally.
Empire Dental XPO is a PPO. It can be either fully-insured on a voluntary employer-sponsored basis, or self-funded through Administrative Services Only. You can get significant discounts from participating dentists. There are also options for benefit customization such as coinsurance, the deductible and additional dental benefits like composite (white), fillings, implant, or cosmetic dentistry. The XPO plans offers benefits both to Empire residents and out-of-area workers.

Please note, participants in the Dental Benefit Plan of the Elevator Division should go to that plan’s page for more about for information about their plan.
Empire BlueCross BlueShield Fee – For Service Program: The Plan allows you to see the dentist of your choosing, but it requires that you pay for all expenses above the plan’s maximum allowance. This is calculated based upon a fee schedule.
Empire Dental Managed Network Program. No out of pocket costs for visiting a network dentist. You must however remain with your dentist/program at least one (1) year.
DDS Inc. Program: You don’t have to pay any out-of pocket costs if you go to a network dentist. But, there are limits. You may switch from one network dentist to another at any time.

Does Empire Plan Cover Dental?
ADULT DENTAL BENEFITS AT OZ: For adult insureds 19-years or older, the following benefits will be available. Empire will cover your Dental care once you’ve met your annual deductible. Empire will also pay the maximum allowed charge (MAC) for the covered services.
Can Empire be compared to Blue Cross Blue Shield or Empire?
Empire HealthChoice HMO, Inc., Empire HealthChoice Assurance, Inc., HealthPlus HP, LLC, each are independently licensed members of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Radiant Services LLC could be involved in the approval process of care that you receive. The process remains the same regardless of whether Radiant Services, LLC is involved.

I have been going to Angel Care Dental since I was a young child… so quite a while 😉 and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The facility is beautiful, the care and gentle touch mean everything to me because I don’t like going to the dentist – who does? But it’s different here and I leave feeling genuinely happy. Mihaela is the BEST hygienist and Dr Galo is kind and extremely gentle. Even a root canal isn’t half bad with Dr Galo! Dr Soraya is also wonderful! Thanks Angel Care. ☺️ – Tara H
