“After being afraid for my man cavern’s fate after Hurricane Sandy in 2012, I decided that I needed an extra sump pump. After much consideration I decided to go with a water powered unit. It arrived in my home this weekend and was installed by me. Everything went together well and the pump is excellent quality. You also get the extra connections, which made the installation easier. The installation of the pump took me around 2 days. While I don’t consider myself a professional, I do have some skills around the house. But I did not want to attach a separate discharge line. The flexible spa tubing is great I used it for an easy connection between the pump and the sump pit. It was also easy to disconnect the pump from the sump pit. The instructions should be carefully read. There is a lot going on with project, and while it is not difficult, when working with pvc glue you only get one chance. My favorite aspect of this project was where to mount it so that water, discharge and intake can be easily accessed. Without the included flexible pipe, this could have been even more complex. As far as performance the pump worked great the first time in turned the water supply on. The timing knob had to be adjusted slightly because it fills up quickly when there is heavy rain.
