Lenovo Ideapad 3 15: Price, Availability, And Specs

Source: Windows Central

Lenovo is the best place to find all configuration options for the IdeaPad 3 15. This exact model costs about $460 after a common Lenovo discount. This model is not cheap. Amazon and Best Buy both have this same configuration on sale for about $400. If you only need a small budget laptop for your daily use, this is quite a bargain.

You can upgrade the storage and memory of your IdeaPad 315 easily once you have purchased it.

Lenovo has a cheaper IdeaPad 3i 15 which starts at $585. The 11th Gen Intel Core processors are standard. There is an FHD display and fingerprint scanner. Also, it has a USB C port. You’re going to have to shell out more money, but those improvements might be well worth it. You can find more Lenovo laptop options in our review.

As for the IdeaPad 3 15 I’m reviewing, I removed the bottom panel to check out what’s inside. For upgrades, there is an additional SODIMM slots and 4GB of RAM that are soldered directly to the board. In this case, there’s a 4GB stick in the slot that gives it dual-channel performance. An 8GB or more stick can be used to upgrade the device for up 12GB.

If you wish to make an upgrade, there is one M.2 SSD slot. It comes with a 2242 NVMe PCIe SSD drive. Next to the SSD is the Wi-Fi 5 card’s M.2 slot, which should technically be upgradeable to a Wi-Fi 6 card if you want to go that far. It has an SATA drive bay right next to the battery. But it is empty and appears not to have any hookups. This is likely a holdover from a previous version. This fan has one narrow heat pipe connecting to the Core 3 chip.

Following are the exact specs found in my IdeaPad 3 15 review unit.

Choices of Gray and Ice Blue

The IdeaPad 1 14 looks a lot more bland than the MSI Modern 14 and is a little larger despite the identical-sized screen. The IdeaPad measures 0.78 by 12.9 by 9.25 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.1 pounds, compared with 0.7 by 12.6 by 8.6 inches and 2.8 pounds for the MSI. Particularly noticeable is the change in display bezels. It’s a thick, black-colored strip on the IdeaPad 1 14 and the Modern 14’s bezels are slimmer to better match the Modern 14’s name.

While the IdeaPad 1 14 doesn’t look quite as modern as many of its counterparts, it certainly isn’t as ugly. Gray is our review unit, and it is a nice gray color that is both simple but not boring. It is not a thin, sleek ultraportable or corporate-chic laptop as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. But after using it intermittently for a few days around the house, I found that it certainly looks like it belongs on your coffee table or kitchen, and probably would do just as well in a fluorescent-lit classroom.

It has an 8 GB of RAM and a Ryzen5 4500U processer. Our impression is that it will suit most users. It’s important to note that this model is also available in retailers with 16GB RAM. This might make it worth your while if you plan on doing more complex work such as editing large images or video.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook Chromebook, is finally here.

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook was hands-down our favorite Chromebook ever. It has remained on our best Chromebooks lists for over a long time now. However, the Duet 5 Chromebook makes a significant improvement on that offering – provided you prefer a Chromebook to a tablet.

This is the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook configuration that TechRadar received for review.

Lenovo Ideapad 114Igl05 Laptop Review. Too Affordable To Be Perfect

You are a cheapskate. Lenovo has pushed the boundaries with the Lenovo IdeaPad 114IGL05. It retails at $300 ($353) and it is evident in each step of this review. This Lenovo laptop cannot be recommended.

Windows

There are many competitors in the low-end space besides the no-name PC manufacturers. Lenovo is one of many well-known players in this area, as evidenced by its IdeaPad 1 14IGL05. We know that this 14-inch notebook is part of Lenovo’s lowest-priced consumer product range (IdeaPad 1), which is powered by an Intel Gemini Lake CPU.

The price of the IdeaPad 1 is very low. For around 300 Euros ($353), you can get our review device. For this price, however, you get only 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal eMMC memory. Furthermore, this 14-inch notebook has an HD TN display.

The competing devices include: the Acer Aspire 1 A114, the HP Chromebook 14 G5 and the Chuwi Herobook 14.

Case & Connectivity: The Lenovo Ideapad1 Is Covered In Plastic

Plastic is all that’s used to make the case for the IdeaPad 1 low-priced model. Silver Grey comes with black bezels. Although the housing costs a lot, it is quite good. The wrist rest area feels very rigid and both the chassis as well as the display lid can easily be bent or turned with minimal effort. While the plastic in the wrist rest area and on the display lid feels smooth to the touch, the plastic on the underside and around the bezels feels rough. It makes it feel cheap. We can’t complain about the build quality as there aren’t any obvious flaws. The hinge, however, is poor-built. This is why the display lid cannot be opened with one hand. When it is open, it wobbles. The screen lid is only 140° open, unlike many Lenovo laptops.

Lenovo laptops are very lightweight, at around 1.4 kg. Other competing devices are somewhat heavier. Moreover, the IdeaPad is also a little more compact. It is not possible to upgrade the notebook of 14 inches by Lenovo. Both internal and RAM have to be soldered-in. However, users can replace the battery, should the need to do so arise.

These ports are appropriate for such an device. Nevertheless, we still miss a USB-C port. USB Type C ports are a must-have feature for low-price laptops. The Lenovo IdeaPad 114IGL05 SD card reader runs very slowly.

Lenovo Laptop With Hdtn Display: Nothing is Worse!

When it comes to the display, the low price of the 14-inch laptop makes itself obvious in a major way: The IdeaPad 1 comes with an HD (1366×768) screen. It is also based on an outdated TN technology. Full HD (1920×1080 display) comes standard on the IdeaPad 1 It still uses TN technology.

The brightness on our device was 239 cd/m2. It is brighter than that claimed by Lenovo in their specifications (220 cd/m2). This is a very dim display in our modern age.

It was quick to boot up and shutdown, so it did everything I needed. You wouldn’t use the Lenovo Ideapad 330 for hard-core video editing, but it does have enough storage space to hold all your files, photos, and casual games.

Upgrades A-Plenty

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 is a Chrome OS-powered tablet with a full keyboard and trackpad attachment plus a detachable kickstand. It is the same design as the original Duet. However, it’s larger than the previous Duet at 10.3 inches and 13.3. This makes it roughly equal to a Surface Pro. But at about half the price and including a keyboard in the box, it’s a much better bargain.

It’s not just larger, but it’s also much more powerful. Although resolution has dropped to 1920×1080 in actuality, OLED panels are now available. These bright tech panels can be seen on phones and laptops as well as high-end media devices such smartphones. Each pixel will pop thanks to the incredible color and contrast.

Michael Crider/IDG Duet 5 has some other important improvements. It’s a significant improvement on the MediaTek chips and now comes with 8GB memory. It’s a great upgrade that I recommend for any Chromebook. This makes the OS look and feel a lot better. It also has a boosted 128GB of storage, though for Chrome OS, that’s not especially important.

You will notice a marked improvement in the keyboard and trackpad on this model. This model has more width, which gives it a true laptop experience. Also, the trackpad is wider so your fingers can move around in the UI. It’s also convenient to have a USB-C connector on each side, making it easy for me to charge the tablet while on the move. You can charge the tablet with as low as ten watts, even though it is powered by low-power ARM technology.

To make a tablet set up that is minimally complicated, you can take out the keyboard as well the fabric-covered Kickstand.

Michael Crider/IDG I wish there was a stylus in the kit, and maybe a fingerprint reader for quick logins. I have no doubt it would be a great addition to that Qualcomm chip. For the price you pay, however, it’s still an excellent deal. Chrome OS still has some bugs that I haven’t fixed. One example is a strange bug that required me to log into Chrome OS with a full passcode instead of my PIN multiple times. But, that’s something that Google will fix.

Cons

– Dim, dull display

– Subpar performance

– short battery life

A solid option for anyone on a strict budget, who needs a simple laptop that can do basic internet tasks is the Lenovo IdeaPad 330. This review was $265. The Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15.6″ laptop has a strong chassis and an ergonomic keyboard. Both are features that many budget laptops lack. The IdeaPad 330 also has a DVD player, which we rarely see in laptops. The display is poor, the battery life is short and the performance is below average. We suggest spending more money on the Acer Aspire E 15 to have a much better experience. There are many configuration options and prices available for the Lenovo IdeaPad 330. It is one of our top laptops below $300. An entry-level model at $265 was tested. This featured a 15.6in, 1366×768-pixel screen, an Intel Celeron F4100 CPU and 4GB RAM. The 500GB hard drive is 5,400 RPM.

premium IdeaPad330

with a Core i3-8130U CPU is available for $299, and there is also an AMD version with a Ryzen 5 2500U CPU, 12GB of RAM, and a 2TB HDD for $663.

IdeaPad 330 design looks just like a regular laptop. This is because if you asked me to draw a laptop you would most likely come up with something similar to the IdeaPad 330. It is rectangular with rounded corners. The silver lid has the Chrome logo on one corner. The IdeaPad’s aluminum chassis and silver undercarriage and lid are neither too thick nor too thin.

Hardware And Performance

Our test model is a mid-specced configuration of the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14ARE , with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U APU, 16 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM, 512 GB of fairly fast Samsung storage and Radeon Vega 6 graphics baked into the AMD APU.

Remember that we are reviewing a locally-purchased model and it runs the Lenovo Vantage 3.3.61.0 software.

The Ryzen 5 6C/6T CPU is described as a processor that can be used at higher TDPs with adequate power. Lenovo offers the Ryzen 7 4700U 8C/8T version of this laptop.

Radeon Vega 6 iGPU integrated within the APU manages graphics. Below, we will discuss the APU’s performance.

In addition to 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz Ram, the configuration shipped also with a Samsung PM991512 GB PCIex4 SSD. These are plenty fast enough for everyday usage. Two SSD drives come inside. The included SSD is compact at 2230 mm and leaves room for the 2280 M.2 slot. The wifi module can also be upgraded on this laptop. However, everything else on the motherboard is soldered. The most basic way to access these components is by taking off the back cover, held in place only with a handful Torx screws.

All software can be managed via the Lenovo Vantage mobile app. The app offers quick access to system settings, key customization options and power profiles. The system controls are streamlined and I consider it one of the best in the industry.

There are three performance/thermal profiles to choose from, and you can switch between them by pressing Fn+Q:
