You can slimm down with shapewear. It will give your appearance a smoother look, support you, highlight your unique body and enhance the beauty of your skin. The problem is, there are SO many on the market and it’s impossible to know which one shapes you the best. Who has time for a million different products? Well…we do! Kari Kemp was a wuss and decided to pull her way out of five top choices. Here’s her review.
Honeylove SuperPower Shorts feature targeted compression. This is a method that helps to tone the skin and make it smooth. These panels have varying degrees of compression, which allows for shaping where you wish and releasing everywhere else. Rather than squeezing everything in like most shapewear, Honeylove shifts. Kari’s Review: I have a smaller waist, so I was eager to see how it carves my body. It was very easy to fit, although it had a lot stretch. I normally like to wear the top below my bra. Although it wasn’t as high as I would like, it felt very secure and stable. It is said to reduce the size of your stomach and smoothen it. There is a line on the legs that would be visible if you were to wear dress pants or underneath a skirt, and nobody wants to see that. Although they were uncomfortable at the hips, it was not too severe.

Shapewear has now entered the conversation for me. I am open to trying any type of clothing that makes me feel or look better.
Spanx is a brand that can’t be ignored when discussing shapewear. The brand that Sara Blakely created almost 20-years ago is synonymous with formwear. Kim Kardashian West announced this summer on Instagram that she would be joining the “foundational garments” category. People were drawn to the Kimono line’s name, not the product. After the brand’s renaming to Skims took place and the products began shipping, the excitement was real. If you take a look at the waitlists as well as the quick inventory backorders, the product launch showed that there was genuine excitement.
Kim Kardashian West’s Skims Solutionwear has been described as the “new, solution-focused approach” to undergarments that enhance shape. The line includes standard shapewear items such as tummy, butt and waist support. They come in a wide range of sizes, including XXX/XS and 4X/5X, which is even more than Spanx’s range. Skims has a variety of products including bras, trainers for the waist, pants, underwear with no shaping, and a line of cotton. There are also some unique items like a single-leg, short-legged skirt that can be worn beneath high-slitted skirts.
So I wondered: How does the new kid on the block compare to the O.G.? To find out which brand was better for my needs, I tried both brands on a “shape off”. On a recent trip to Seattle, I knew I’d be eating a ton and having a few cocktails. It would also help that I was out and about a lot, so no one would ever notice the fact I wore two identical outfits two days in succession (to compare the clothing of the different brands). This was a great time to put both brands and their respective products to the test, for both their shaping capabilities and their all-day comfort.

You will see photos of my “underwear”, or undergarments, as I call them. I will also share details about the “spanx experience” with you – the stuff you really want to know. In an effort to find the best value, I decided to also try a cheap knockoff brand. Watch this video to see the results of that experiment. haha – Ack! (It’s okay to be scared …) Getting into and out of Spanx Shapewear I was skeptical about trying Spanx, after reading horror stories where people had to fight to fit in or cut their way out. LOL. Spanxes are expensive. Fortunately, that was not the case at all. I found it VERY easy to get on and off, yet it fit like a second skin. In fact, it felt fabulous! However, it felt amazing!
The fit was easy and it felt so good that I actually wore it 3 times in one day – 12+ hour days. It was so wonderful that I forgot to wear it after the fourth day.
It did not get too hot, wet, sweaty or icky. It did a great job of compressing, and yet, I was not hot or uncomfortable even in the Orlando heat.
What About When You Have To Go Pee?!
I pee quite a bit. Because it acts as a natural diuretic, ketosis is the best. Thankfully, the Spanx model I purchased has a well-designed “pee hole”, though I am sure that it is called something else. It worked great on the model I ordered and didn’t require me to take my Spanx off.
We Tried Spanx Bestselling Leggings: Faux Leather, Suede And More For Fall
Fall means a few things, but aside from pumpkin spice and early Halloween decor, it means the switch from bike shorts to full-length leggings.
Leggings, no matter if you work at home and still wear the same pair of sweatpants or prefer comfort in the workplace, are what you will need this Fall 2021.
Lucky for all of you, Spanx, an athleisure, shapewear, and apparel brand, offers both the latest releases and the classics. Because seeing is believing, so we decided to put the fashion styling and shape to the test.
Following our extensive review of leggings Joggers Bicycle Shorts, this review will be simplified to let you know how the leggings are styled for the gym or out on the town.

The first legging review was done in November 2020. I loved them and have made them a wardrobe essential.
These leggings were dubbed in the original article “best compression pants” according to Spanx fashion. They were great for workouts, and I loved the flexibility of the fabric as well as the sweat-wicking. One thing you should know when performing squats: if your underwear is very bright, it might show through the fabric. I prefer to use nude and black for public gyms.
Cons:
The sizes are quite small. Be sure to take them off if you have to.
You’re not going to wear them on very intense days.
Spanx Seamless Spanx Look at Me Now Leggings
It’s impossible to go wrong when you have a pair black leggings that you love. Leggings are a major problem for me. The waistband can dig into my stomach and the seams create marks all over my legs. It is easy to solve the problem: just take out all seams. Right.
I think this pair would be called a “couchto crunches” pair. The pants don’t roll up or bunch during crunches. However, they feel soft enough to wear for everyday lounging.
These leggings are much looser than Booty Boost and feel a lot more comfortable. However they have Spanx’s double-layer waistband. This keeps your pants in place but not too tight. They are also the most true-to size, and they have the greatest stretch. But, like most Spanx items to include legging-lovers, these can range in size from XS up to XX.
This pair of leggings is versatile enough to wear at the gym or day-to-day.
Cons:
They come only in black at the moment.
These seem to be a little small so size up if you prefer a more fitted legging.
Attention Spanx-lovers! This is a new model for 2021. Suede is one fabric I love, so when I see it in my wardrobe, I am drawn to it. You can also add leggings to the mix.
The Faux Suede Leggings already scored major points with me, as they come in an array of fall-forward colors, including olive green, camel, chocolate brown and a dark red-purple merlot. Because I can pair them with almost every color top, and my favourite white leather boots I chose to go for the olive legging.
Also, the sizes were great. I have tried other styles like faux leather and velvet but they seem a bit too small for me. You can find a disclaimer on the website that says: “These leggings will feel tight at first, but they will shape to your body.” We promise, they’re worth the SPANX shimmy!” if you missed it.
The bonus points should be given to the taller girls as well as the shorter girls like me. They offer sizes from a XS through a 3X and come in petite, regular, and tall options. You can wash them like the rest, inside-out.

While wear testers had mixed feelings about its thin elastic straps, they all agreed that Spanx’s Open-Bust Full Slip gave them a smooth silhouette while staying hidden under garments. However, most found this shaper hard to get on and uncomfortable to wear. Many felt that the straps were too tight around their shoulders. Also, the bottom was more likely to roll up.

Cropped Flare
Spanx $110.00 Spanx. My colleague Sally is only five feet taller, at 5 foot-3. So I prefer to wear cropped trousers in order to reduce tailoring costs. I also have a well-documented love of Spanx tights and leggings , so I was excited to review the Cropped Flare.
Spanx provides a Cropped Flare with a smaller inseam (23.5″), so I was able to crop it (!). Although I was worried at first that the pull-on would resemble leggings too much in appearance and feel, it turned out to be a good fit. Cropped Flare is comfortable and has smoothing, shaping and long-lasting properties. It also looks like work pants.
