Retention of Ice

Lifetime’s ice retention performance is not as good as YETI, which are blow molded coolers.

But we tested their coolers and we also got the reviews of other customers, and they attest that those coolers live up to what Lifetime claims that their coolers have long ice retention days.

We tested the 65 Quart High-Performance Hard Cooler to know how many days it will hold ice under 22.5 – 23 degC weather. We filled the cooler full of ice. Once the ice was melted, the cooler was removed from the freezer.

At the end of 7 days, the water inside the cooler was still very cool although the ice already melted! It could probably have kept ice as long 8 days, according to the manufacturer’s claims, if it was outside.

Accordingly, the manufacturer says that their 65-quart cooler will retain ice for 8 days.

According to Lifetime, the coolers have a ice retention rate of up 9 days in the 77-quart model, while the 28-quart, 55-quart, and 28-quart models can retain ice for as long as 5 days.

Lifetime, a brand that makes coolers. The brand is well-known for producing a wide range of products that include tables, chairs, and sports gear.

Based on their experience in different fields, they decided to expand into coolers. They currently only have two sizes and one colour of coolers, so there is not much choice.

We’ll accept them as it is their first cooler and we will focus our review on what they offer. We hope you enjoy the review as much as we enjoyed writing it (we certainly enjoyed writing that intro)!

Design and Construction. We love this particular ice box for its color scheme. Although you won’t find much color variation, the quality of what’s there might make you feel that you don’t really need other choices. The combination of blue and gray is so harmonious that it instantly makes cooler seem cool.

This cooler has been rotomolded, something that we are always excited to learn about. We’ll ask you if your cooler is rotomolded. If not, then we will question its insulation abilities, ice retention and durability.

It’s possible that the cooler is a rotomolded container ice chest. If we find out, then it might be gospel truth. Although it may not be gospel truth for us, the cooler is very much ours.

Rotomolded cooling means this cooler is strong and can withstand any kind of weather. As you can see, the cooler was built for tough conditions. The cooler is not only about appearances.

Lifetime Cooler Review- 28, 55 & 77 Qt Coolers

Lifetime Coolers have been immensely popular ever since we did our Ice Variation Test. Given the quality and price, it shouldn’t be surprising that this is so. Since we have reviewed each size of Lifetime Coolers and we are familiar with the pros and cons, we thought it appropriate to give a detailed review. The coolers that are affordable held ice better than most high-end, roto-molded coolers.

How We Tested The Lifetime 77 Quart High Performance Cooler

It arrived the day prior to our road trip so we tried the cooler out on fire. Our sandwiches, fruit, beers and sodas were packed and we filled the cooler with two bags of seven-pound ice. Then, it was time to go. It was only half-full because the trip (660 miles) took 12 hours and we weren’t planning to live on the cooler.

We arrived at the destination to find that the cooler was significantly reduced in size. After doing some research we discovered that several errors were made in our preparations, which resulted in a lower cooler performance. We had not properly prepared the cooler. It is recommended with all coolers not just Lifetime that you ice down the cooler first before you pack it. This will prevent shock-melt from occurring as the cooler walls cool down and allow for better ice retention. Second, half of the cooler was filled. It left excess headspace. Warmer air immediately fills the cooler every time it’s opened. It will significantly reduce the shelf life of your frozen ice.

We were much happier with the second cooler test, which was continuous usage over a weekend in the sunlight. Before using the cooler, we put a couple of frozen water bottles in it and left it to sit for several hours. The cooler was then filled almost to the top with ice. We were able to dramatically increase the cool retention of the cooler by following these simple steps. The cooler has retained around 85 percent after two days of testing (even with some beverage and food removal).

Overall I was very impressed by the second testing of the cooler. I have complete confidence in the Lifetime cooler’s ability to perform at the same level as other coolers and outperform all others I have owned.

Yeti launched a revolutionary outdoor cooler in 2008 that revolutionized the market for recreational coolers. Featuring a hard shell and insulation that promised to keep food and drinks cold for days on end, the company was able to secure a foothold with its unique products. Yet, the price of a Yeti cooler was prohibitive to a lot of people. However, there would soon be tons of imitation coolers on the market.

Well built and economical, the Lifetime brand of coolers provide consumers with a product that is on par with more expensive brands.

While I spent most of my off-road race coverage in the heat of the summer, I still bought an ice bag every few days. I finally bit the bullet last year when I saw the Lifetime brand coolers at Walmart for a fraction of a Yeti. I decided to pick up a 55-quart model and go forth with it. My first voyage was my journey to Arizona and Utah.

Is Lifetime Cooler Any Good?

Lifetime’s cooler (gray), one of the best performers, is less than $100 — but Igloo Maxcold(teal), even better for half the money. … The Lifetime High Performance Cooler says it’ll hold 55 quarts, but it actually held an even more impressive 62.4 quarts in my tests.

Do Lifetime Coolers Really Worth It?

The Lifetime cooler claims 7+ day ice retention. However, it is less likely to retain ice for 5+ days when the temperature is higher and cooler. Ice retention will be around 7-8 days when cooler temperatures are below freezing. It is a great deal for the price. … I like that they are honest and display that the Orca coolers hold ice better than them.

Which cooler is it, Ozark Lifetime or Ozark?

Lifetime coolers tend to be less durable than Ozark Trail coolers. They are made from rotomolded plastic, while Lifetime coolers use blow molding. What this means is that Ozark Trail coolers have a thicker plastic shell, making them more durable and harder to break.
