Aldi Coffee Pods

Aldi Coffee Pods (Price, Types, Quality, Roasts, Taste + More)

We all know that coffee is our only source of energy. With the invention of coffee pods, making a single cup of coffee has never been simpler or more easy. The innovative Keurig machines now offer a variety of espresso and instant coffee options.

Aldi supermarkets have a reputation for offering food and beverages at steeply reduced prices. They also include coffee pods. Let’s take a look at what you can expect from Aldi’s coffee pod selection.

  • Aldi Coffee Pods In 2022
  • Aldi also sells coffee pods as part of their Barissimo brand, which offers higher quality coffees. Available in decaf, regular, light roasts and flavored styles as well, the pods also have Fair Trade options. A box of 12 pods costs $3.55.

  • To go more in-depth into what kind of pods Aldi carries, how their price compares to others, if they’re any good taste-wise and with which machines they are compatible, keep reading!

Aldi sells what kind of coffee pods?

Aldi sells six different coffee cups as part of their Everyday line, all of which come labeled as part of the Barissimo coffee collection. Note that Aldi calls their pods “cups”; I will use the two terms interchangeably.

All year long, you will find these flavours:

Barissimo Breakfast Blend or Donut Store Coffee Cups, 12 ct.

Barissimo Caramel or French Vanilla Cappuccino Cups, 12 ct.

Barissimo Decaf Coffee Cups or Breakfast Blend from Donut Store, 12 ct.

Barissimo Fair Trade Colombian Coffee Cups, 12 ct.

Barissimo French- or Blonde Roast Coffee Cups (12 ct.

Barissimo French Vanilla or Hazelnut Coffee Cups, 12 ct.

Aldi occasionally releases unique flavors in the Aldi Finds lineup throughout the year. In winter, for example, you may see a Peppermint Mocha.

The company released 12 Valentine’s Day chocolates in a gift box.

Pumpkin Spice is always the focus of Fall, so Aldi has many variations on this flavor.

The best way to know what’s coming to your store as an Aldi Find is to keep an eye out for their print ad, which comes in the mail, check out their digital ad via their website, or look at the Upcoming Aldi Finds tab on their mobile app.

    Are Aldi Coffee Pods Cheap?

Aldi’s pricing is a thing I love. Aldi’s coffee cups come packed in 12-packs. No matter what coffee flavor, they are always $3.55.

Walmart sells coffee pods that they make under the Great Value brand. Their 12-packs sell for $3.92, and it must be said that their variety is much greater, with more like 15-20 different kinds.

Wegmans also offers their store-brand coffee pods for as low as $3.99 per 12-count. Wegmans has over 20 types of Wegmans coffee pods. These include multiple flavours and roasts. There is even an organic version for $5.99.

Aldi coffee pods are cheap, cheaper than their competition by at least 37 cents.

But, it’s possible that other grocery shops have more options. As I don’t include name brands like Dunkin’ ($7.99 10) and Starbucks ($8.49 ten), or McDonald’s ($7.49 ten).

  • To really show how affordable Aldi’s pods truly are, take a look at your average Starbucks coffee order – $5 $5? More? Only one coffee. You can buy the pods for only 30c each.

Aldi Coffee Pods: What Do They Taste Like?

Reviewers have given Aldi coffee rave reviews, however, none of them has ever mentioned the Everyday coffee cup.

I don’t want to draw an unfair conclusion, but it’s likely safe to say that the taste is nothing to write home about.

These are both convenient and affordable. It’s OK! Sometimes, you need to get a cup of coffee on the go for work and in rush hour mornings.

Although I have not tried the seasonal coffee pods yet, My favorite coffee was the peppermint mocha.

Although I don’t like hot coffee much, the rich peppermint flavors and sweet chocolate flavor were delicious and luxurious.

  • Aldi placed their peppermint mocha cups right next to Starbucks K cups in exactly the same flavor.
  • Aldi sells hot cocoa and milk cups. Aldi also sold dark chocolate pods, which were okay but not spectacular.

  • I think overall, then, the regular Everyday pods could be considered serviceable, while the flavored, seasonal Aldi Finds pods are quite good and worth a try!
  • What Coffee Machines Are Aldi Coffee Pods Compatible With?

Let’s look closer at popular instant or pod-ready espresso machines and find out if Aldi coffee cups can be used with these machines.

Are Aldi Coffee Pods Compatible With Nespresso Machines?

Aldi’s coffee pods for Everyday aren’t compatible with Nespresso machines. Nespresso machines are designed to be used at home. Nestle is the owner of Nespresso. While their machines have been popular in Europe they aren’t as widely adopted here.

Aside from fit issues, Aldi’s Everyday coffee pods have the wrong type of grounds in them to be used in a Nespresso machine.

Aldi does not sell Everyday pods, but they do offer coffee capsules made specifically for Nespresso. Aldi Finds cost $3.49 for a box and came in different flavors.

However, commenters on Reddit noted that they were having a difficult time finding them; I’ve never seen them in stores, so perhaps it was a Find that didn’t catch on.

Because Nespresso machines have become more widely known abroad, European Aldi shops sell espresso pods in their Everyday line. These sell under the label Alcafe.

Aldi CoffeePods Compatible with Dolce Gusto Machines

Aldi coffee pods are not compatible with the Nescafe Dolce Gusto machines, which take the at-home espresso experience to a whole other level (including touchscreens that allow you to customize your beverage and make all kinds of specialty drinks).

Aldi’s coffee pods don’t have enough milk pods for making lattes, cappuccinos or other espresso-based drinks.

Again, however, because of the popularity of espresso in Europe, Aldi stores abroad do sell Dolce Gusto-compatible cups, with some tasty-sounding flavors like Twix bar. These products are called Alcafe Barista Moments.

Aldi CoffeePods Compatibility with K-Fee Machines

Aldi coffee beans are not compatible for K-fee machines. Starbucks Verismo pods can be used with Kfee machines.

Are Aldi Coffee Pods Compatible With Tassimo Machines?

Aldi pods for coffee aren’t compatible with Tassimo machines. This is because the cups must have a unique barcode that tells the machine what water level, what time to brew, and the temperature.

As you can see, the only machines with which Aldi’s Everyday coffee cups are compatible are the Keurig coffee makers. This makes sense, as Keurigs are the most popular and common single-cup machines in the U.S.

American consumers haven’t yet developed enough taste for espresso at home to justify all of the compatible pods.

Aldi’s coffee beans are out now. Check out our other articles for Aldi bread or almond milk and Aldi chocolate.

  • Conclusion
  • Aldi coffee pods come in six affordable Everyday flavors, along with seasonal specialty flavors as part of Aldi Finds. While they are not nearly as acclaimed as some of Aldi’s other coffee products, the pods are serviceable and affordable.

Aldi coffee pods might not fit into any other machine other than a Keurig, but since that is the one most common in the U.S., they’re a good buy if you want to save some money on quick, hot caffeinated beverages.
