Josh Elliss received the Dr. Barnum Research Award during his undergraduate education at Dixie State College- St. George College and Utah State College. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude in Biology. After graduating from Dixie State College-St. George, Dr. Elliss attended University of Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. He was an extern at Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies where he learned about modern cosmetic dentistry and occlusion. Following graduation from UNLV he received the Quintessence Award (for his outstanding research) and the Outstanding Student Award (from the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain). Ellis completed his studies in Dallas and then moved to Las Cruces with his family.

Growing up in the small Utah town of Zion’s National Park, my love for hiking and being outdoors was cultivated early in life. Each day I look out the window and can see the Organ Mountains from close to my house. Las Cruces offers a diverse and unique environment and my family is at home.” Dr. Elliss currently participates in the local cub scouts. He also supports NMSU student athletics.

Cory Thompson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish. Following graduation from ASU, Dr. Thompson attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. In the east, he discovered that he loves the weather and can appreciate how it doesn’t snow. At his family’s request/urging, Dr. Thompson set out to practice in the desert southwest. After some time spent in Arizona, Las Cruces became home and he and his family have grown to love the area and the people.

Las Cruces is unique and I love it. White Sands National Park offers breathtaking mountain views. We are happy to call this our hometown. Las Cruces is my dream place. I look forward to serving their needs. The path was not always straight and clear but with encouragement from his family, friends and church he had faith he would achieve his goal. As a Sanitation Aide at Memorial Medical Center, Las Cruces High School helped him develop a solid work ethic. He completed a high school diploma and a certificate of Certified Nursing Assistant. From there, he went to Las Cruces Nursing Center and enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at NMSU School of Business and College of Arts and Sciences. He was then accepted to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry after he completed his Bachelors of Business Administration. He served four years as the Class President and was part of the Dean’s List. In his senior year, he won many leadership awards. He received recognition from the California Dental Association and the Prince Award. The school considers this one of its most important awards. Dr. Espinoza wanted to further his education in dentistry and advanced techniques. He was admitted to the University of New Mexico’s Advanced General Dentistry program. Espinoza also completed an additional year in the LV to continue his education. Dental implants, sedation and emergency dentistry. Although it was a challenging year, he has learned a lot from the specialists and is eager to learn more. Dr. Espinoza was offered several jobs in America, but he decided to accept the Urgent Dental Care Sonoma position and continue his mission of helping the people he helped.

Narek Akopyan, a doctor from Armenia, arrived in the United States at age 5 after his family moved to Armenia. Born in Los Angeles, he attended University of California San Diego for his undergraduate degree in Biology. Dr. Akopyan then went to dental school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Following graduation, he was honored with the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Lead Award and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Saurgeons Dental Student Award. He has taken a special interest in oral surgery procedures, including implant placement and wisdom tooth extractions. He has completed many continuing education courses in theory and implant placement. Dr. Akopyan understands that patients often feel anxious about visiting the dentist. He has been trained to give intravenous sedate to help them relax. Dr. Akopyan has a passion for dentistry and looks forward to serving Las Cruces. He also plans to take time off from private practice each year to travel internationally and provide dental treatment to underserved communities.

We offer specialized dental care for children and adolescents. Our practice is child-friendly and offers warm, compassionate and kid-friendly services. Our 2-3 year additional training as pediatric dentists has equipped us to meet the dental needs of every child. Preventive care is our main focus to give each child a smile they will cherish for a lifetime. We serve children and teens with special needs, as well as infants, in Las Cruces, NM.

I have been going to this place for the last 5 years. I have had many problems. They took care of them. The customer service, care, guidance and treatment I have got have been always extraordinary. Everyone is professional and dedicated to deliver the best. I am sorry, I don’t remember all the names of the wonderful staff. Some of the names of the wonderful team members I remember I would like to mention like : Dr. Bains, Alex, Anna and Rupa. I have been going to Angel Care Dental since I was a young child… so quite a while 😉 and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The facility is beautiful, the care and gentle touch mean everything to me because I don’t like going to the dentist – who does? But it’s different here and I leave feeling genuinely happy. Mihaela is the BEST hygienist and Dr Galo is kind and extremely gentle. Even a root canal isn’t half bad with Dr Galo! Dr Soraya is also wonderful! Thanks Angel Care. ☺️ – Tara H
