A video gaming room and toddler play area are available, as well as movie screens that can be seen from all dental chairs. Our responsibility to treat children is taken one step further with the use of state-of-the art dental equipment, including low radiation digital xrays.
We have 2 incredible pediatric dental specialists, Dr. Elizabeth Nelson and Dr. Robert Burns who is also one of the few board-certified pediatric dentist in Iowa. Commitment to Education
I was born in West Des Moines and graduated from Valley High School, West Des Moines. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I was then accepted to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where I received my D.D.S. After having completed four years’ of dental school, my doctorate (Doctor in Dental Surgery) was granted. I was captivated by children’s dentistry and wanted more education. I was accepted into the residency program at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. After two years of intensive training, I received my specialty degree in pediatric dentistry. The strong educational background I received has instilled in me a desire for lifelong learning. Research and continuous education are critical to the advancement of our profession. In 2009, I had my first research manuscript published in the May/June 2009 issue of Journal of Pediatric Dentistry. In order to share my research, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Annual session in Washington D.C. invited me.
Since 2008, I’ve been practicing pediatric dentistry in Des Moines. During this time I have earned and maintained certifications from various professional organizations in my field including:

I have been going to this place for the last 5 years. I have had many problems. They took care of them. The customer service, care, guidance and treatment I have got have been always extraordinary. Everyone is professional and dedicated to deliver the best. I am sorry, I don’t remember all the names of the wonderful staff. I have been going to Angel Care Dental since I was a young child… so quite a while 😉 and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The facility is beautiful, the care and gentle touch mean everything to me because I don’t like going to the dentist – who does? But it’s different here and I leave feeling genuinely happy. Mihaela is the BEST hygienist and Dr Galo is kind and extremely gentle. Even a root canal isn’t half bad with Dr Galo! Dr Soraya is also wonderful! Thanks Angel Care. ☺️ – Tara H
