Home improvement retail giants Lowe’s and Home Depot are the places many of us go when we need paint.
Although it may seem that the two shops are identical, they actually have different stock to fit a wide range of customers’ needs.
We have compiled a comprehensive guide that will help you understand the differences between Lowe’s and Home Depot paint.
Let’s break down each store’s paint inventory individually and with the price tag attached.
Lowe’s carries five brands, including major ones. They include:

For a price comparison, a gallon of porch paint from Lowe’s Valspar brand costs about $40; a gallon from Home Depot’s Behr brand runs you about $32.

When you are looking for a match in paint, it is possible to bring in an actual sample or a close-match.
Home Depot also claims you can send in “a color I discovered today” to match.
A minimum of a 1-inch chip is required to get best results.
Bring in any item, image or prop that inspires you.
Let the computers match it by rubbing a few drops of the paint onto some paper. The paint may change its color once it dries.

Sherwin William also makes it on to the Good Housekeeping top 10 interior paints list (but not for the colors). However, I don’t think GH could feature inferior-quality paint.
Country Living gave Home Depot’s Behr Marquee, and PPG high marks for their durability and coverage.
However, my personal experience with paint from each store is different.
The Sherwin Williams Showcase brand of paint was used for my home office.
I usually use Behr but tried the Sherwin-Williams paint.
I was trying to get the painter’s tap off the baseboards.
Home Depot’s Behr Marquee is not capable of doing that. Its one-coat warranty is very true and the end product always looks great.
Home Depot Behr Marquee I recommend over all other interior paints 100 percent.
Sherwin William’s Infinity has a similar quality but is much more expensive.
For paint and primer in one (plus one-coat coverage) and outstanding durability, go with the Behr Marquee.
