HOKA ONE ONE Clifton8. Men’s: HOKA ONE ONE Clifton8. This update includes a new midsole design for a smoother ride.

Fleet Feet testers laced up for some mileage on the HOKA Clifton 8 It’s safe to say we loved it.

Each new version I have seen is perfection. There is no way for it to be better. Then HOKA goes and does it,” says one reviewer. Every year, it makes me question the location of the Clifton ceiling.” We wish HOKA would never find the Clifton ceiling. The Clifton 8: Everything you need to know

Updated Midsole Foam Is Cushy As Eva

The Clifton 8 is a classic Clifton design that has not been modified. However, it features an EVA foam midsole which provides soft cushioning and a responsive kick.

To provide the smoothest ride, our midsole foam compresses to absorb shock.

Clifton 8 is a light, comfortable mattress that was noticed by our reviewers.

Reviewer: “It is soft, but it feels firm enough in your forefoot and middlefoot to push off rather than feeling like you’re running in sand,” said one.

The Clifton 8 was worn by reviewers for long runs on tracks, roads and other non-technical paths. They were impressed with the performance of the shoe across these different surfaces. Even through long runs and speed work, we loved the cushioned, energized feel of the Clifton 8.

One reviewer said that the shoe can be worn for everything, from simple runs on gravel to pavement, to moderate-paced runs, to fast, technical trails.

HOKA designed a heel crash pad that disperses impact forces from the joints. Although the heel counter may not be as extreme as the Mach 4 model, it is sufficient foam to support the meta-rocker design of the early stages of the shoe and promote smooth transitions.

This Redesigned Upper Is Plush, Secure And Well-Designed

HOKA’s midsole foam was updated. The Clifton 8 update also features a new engineered mesh upper.

“This is one of the standout updates. The premium-feel upper reduces irritation. “It’s light and breathable,” said a Fleet Feet Reviewer.

While the mesh is perforated, it allows air to circulate and doesn’t affect the cushiony sensation. This works with the plush, padded tongue to create a snug fit that still offers the flexibility your foot needs to move naturally as you run.

Clifton’s toe box is more accommodating than the previous model, so our reviewers were impressed.

A reviewer states that although my feet are slightly bigger than normal, the Clifton 8 is spacious enough to make me feel comfortable. “I feel like it has slightly more room in the forefoot than the previous version that one felt a little too tapered toward the toe.” While the Clifton will be available in wide sizing, it could be helpful to try them on first to see how well the normal width fits your foot. For a snug fit, it is important to allow enough space between the toes. Too much can cause discomfort and rubbing.

Reviewed users were pleased with the new cushioned heels collars and bucket-seat feeling.

Clifton 8 has an anatomically-designed, extended heel tab. These tabs make it much easier to wear your shoes after a run or to remove them. They also work with your natural heel shape to give you the most comfortable fit.

Clifton 8, Vs. Clifton 7.

Clifton 8 Update proves something: Little tweaks can make all the difference.

Whether you have been running in Cliftons ever since HOKA was founded, or just starting to hear about them, the Clifton 8 retains all of the great features that the 7.

I think HOKA Clifton enthusiasts will love this new update. This shoe isn’t going to be a major departure from the norm, but it does have some tweaks that improve the comfort and adjust the fit,” said a reviewer. He has been wearing the HOKA Clifton for a long time.

The Clifton 7 has not seen much aesthetic improvement over the 8 model. Slight changes to the engineered mesh upper (which was introduced with the 7) and enhanced padding add to the overall performance of the Clifton 8 without changing the style too much.

You can use this shoe for anything, including long walks or running on the roads. With its relatively wide and flat outsole, the Clifton 7 proved this.

Clifton 8 offers the same stability and versatility, with an exaggerated rocker in the early stages and a more curvy midsole. This plays out in the widened toe box and smooth transitions while running.

A reviewer of their Clifton 7s put in a lot of miles and had to apply anti-chafe treatments to his large toe before running:

Final Thoughts

It’s hard to find a shoe that works well for so many people. Designing one is probably more difficult. HOKA surpasses and meets our expectations each time the Clifton is released.

Clifton 8 is considered neutral and can fit a range of arch sizes, foot shapes, and shoe sizes. They have a snug fit, no matter if you are running or walking.

Even though the Clifton 8 does not make much of a difference from the 7, it is a substantial improvement on the 7. The updated midsole foam makes the shoe feel more responsive and allows runners to stay focused even when running long distances. Clifton 8 is lighter than the 7 by using a light-weight, foam blend. This absorbs impact with great ease.

A reviewer said, “I think Clifton loyalists would love the 8. It keeps everything that’s great about previous iterations and addresses the previous shortcomings with improved fit and materials.” We can’t help but agree. The HOKA 8 lifts expectations to new heights and makes us want more.

To Hoka or Not to Hoka

Hokas, just like Vibrams a few decades ago are splitting opinion in the running community. The Hokas have their loyal fans. One man ran up to me and said how much his Hokas meant to him. Another group of runners prefers a less minimalist shoe. And they look nothing but minimal.

Pronounced ‘Oh-nee’, this is a brand developed in 2010 by two Frenchmen who previously worked at Salomon, searching for a modern trail shoe to play in on the Alps mountain paths. This shoe is inspired by mountain bikes and powder skis.

The sole is THICK, but don’t be fooled, they are super lightweight which is designed for comfort, stability and cushioning. You can feel the meta-rocker geometry of the sole tipping up at its ends. This is to encourage natural running, and to give you a smooth roll to raise your toes. There’s added stability within the shoes as your foot sits within the midsole which the brand calls ‘the bucket seat’.

Although the sole measures 4mm in height, it is a relatively small drop. This provides minimal support and a huge cushion.

Workout clothes from a range at Zalando I thought I would hate Hokas, and was ready to write a review saying they were too big, but I didn’t. They were really great. They were very light and airy! It seems that I am not the only one. I searched the Sciency sections of this post for negative reviews. However, it was difficult to find other than 4 or 5 star Hoka One One reviews. Jonathan Beverly, the shoe editor for Runners World US was even quoted as saying when running in HOKAS you’re running with the same posture as you would if you were barefoot but with all cushioning.

I particularly loved them on the trails, I couldn’t feel the little stones I was running over, and didn’t feel unstable over some of the bumpy paths – that said, I don’t know how these particular style – Clifton 3 – would fare over more technical trails.

Hokas are my best friend. I brought them with me to New Zealand, where I ran in them until I couldn’t.

Customers’ Reviews: The Top Hoka One One Shoes

Five Cool Styles For Men To Wear Dr. Martens Shoes This Spring The 17 Best Flats For Women This Year The 5 Best Nike Gifts to Buy This Year.

Sneaker sales are booming. It is one the most popular running brands in the U.S. in 2019 and had explosive sales last despite overall declining footwear sales. Everyone is talking (and even wearing) Hoka One One from everyday people to celebrities.

Jean-Luc Diard (French French Trail Runner) and Nicolas Mermoud (French Mountain Runners) founded Deckers, introducing a minimalist running shoe during a period when minimalist running shoes were in fashion. Mermoud & Diard worked as gear designers in the outdoors industry prior to forming the duo. They teamed up with a Chinese shoe manufacturer’s chemist to develop an extremely lightweight EVA foam. It is more flexible and durable than other EVA options. The foam was branded RMAT and RBound. It is made from a high-energy return rubber mix that absorbs shocks, but doesn’t contain any gel.

The brand’s first running shoes, the Bondi, was also recognizable by their large midsoles.

They are also known for their Meta Rocker technology. Built into the midsole and outsole near the metatarsal bones in the feet, this feature is designed to create a fulcrum effect, like a rocking chair, to support the runner’s natural stride while prompting smooth, efficient transitions.

The Active Foot Frame, which cradles your heel and inserts it in the midsole, is another key technology. It’s compared to sitting in a bucket seat on a race car. A carbon fiber plate also curls beneath the toes for smooth transitions. One if its latest technologies is Prof-fly, a two-part midsole that combines soft foam in the heel and firmer foam in the forefoot to deliver a cushioned landing and responsive toe-off.

These pairs are very comfortable and have earned the Seal Of Acceptance from American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Clifton 7

Clifton Series by the brand was revolutionary as it provided plush cushioning, without having to weigh runners’ feet. The Clifton series is still one of the brands most desired. Clifton 7 is the seventh model. It retains many of the same beloved features as the original. For daily use, the Clifton 7 features an EVA foam middlesole and an early-stage Rocker. These are used to provide a more smooth ride. It also has an open mesh upper and a vertical pull tab. This style, with its flat-waisted geometries and high-abrasion rubber zone in the outsole zones, is extremely lightweight. It also provides full contact to the ground for stability.

Reviewers said: “I am a long-time Clifton user. My last five marathons were run in Hoka shoes, mostly Clifton. I have flirted with Nike but ultimately swung left. The Clifton 1’s soft ride, and the Clifton 3’s leather upper are my favorites. I have a collection of three to five pairs. In my opinion, the Clifton 7 outperforms them all. Although it has a firmer feel and landing than the 1 but still feels soft and smooth, with an amazing upper. It was secure and locked in. The feel of the upper felt thick and comfortable, but it wasn’t bulky or fatty.

Bondi 7

Hoka One One Bondi is their most cushioned street shoe. Over 900 reviews have given the new model a four- and five-star rating. This latest model features the same EVA midsole with breathable mesh and Meta Rocker technology. A plush collar is made of memory foam and designed to support a narrower foot. TPU overlays also offer additional structure and support, while an internal heel counter is built to provide a locked-in feel. Customers love to wear them while running and for other leisure activities.

Reviewers said: “I was blown away by the comfort and stability of these shoes. It’s like walking on marshmallows when it comes to the plushness, but they are stable and steady. This experiment was a result of years spent wearing Ecco and Merrell footwear, which I still love.

Challenger Atr 5

Although the predecessor to the latest Challenger ATR model, the ATR 5 also continues to be a customer favorite for trail runs. More than 89% of the 267 reviews gave it four to five stars. A modified midfoot design is featured in this edition for better locking and support. In keeping with the the model’s heritage, the lugs on its outsole are arranged closer together towards the heel for smooth transitions and are wider spread in the forefoot to provide grip in wet conditions. Highlights include the dual-layer mesh fabric upper and TPU-textured toe reinforcement. The internal heel counter locks in the fit.

Commentators: “I mainly run on trails, but I need a shoe to take care of roads.” Challenger ATR 5 for me has been an excellent combination shoe. Comfy out of the box, responsive and still has enough space in the toe box for me.”

Hoka One: What Makes It Special?

Hoka One One (pronounced ho-kah oh-nay oh-nay) was founded in 2009 by two trail running enthusiasts, Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard. Cunha revealed that Hoka One One’s sneaker is also incredibly cushioned with an EVA foam which has been specially developed and made to feel soft.

Hoka Bad:

A maximalist shoe can make runners feel heavier, making it easier to run. … Your shoes can aggravate an injury if they are worn. Hokas are not designed to prevent or treat injuries.
