Comparable To Other Monitors
It is overall a very good monitor. The LG 34GN850-B is one of our favorite 21:9 ultrawide monitors and it’s also cheaper than comparable monitors. It’s not the best option for dark rooms gaming because of its low contrast ratio. Also, its horizontal viewing angles may be less than other IPS monitors. Other options include our suggestions for gaming monitors that are ultrawide. We also recommend the LG 34GP83A/B LG 34GP83A/B. Both the LG34GN850-B and LG 34GP83A/B have almost identical design features and performances. The 34GN850-B’s response time at max refresh rates is slightly quicker, while it does get a little brighter with HDR.
The LG 34GN850-B and the Samsung Odyssey G7 LC32G75T are very different monitors. Samsung’s 16:9 display is available in either a 32 or 27 inch format, while LG’s is a 21/9 LCD model only available in a 34-inch size. While the Samsung is faster in refresh rates, it’s slower than the LG. The LG has less overshoot which results in inverse ghosting. Slow dark transitions can also cause dark shadowing behind fast moving objects. If you game in the dark, the Samsung is a much better choice because it uses a VA panel with a significantly higher contrast ratio. It comes with narrow viewing angles so the LG may be better if you have to share your screen.
AOC 34GN850-B, and AOC 64G2X gaming monitors are great options with different panel types. AOC panels have a VA panel that has a greater contrast, but the LG’s IPS panel is wider. The LG’s motion is better because of its faster response time and lacks black flecking like the AOC. It also has a brighter display, which helps reduce glare. The AOC allows for swivel adjustments if ergonomics is important to you.
There are two aspect ratios for the LG 34GN850B versus the Gigabyte M27Q. While the LG displays ultra-wide images, the Gigabyte is standard in 16:9 formats. Gaming-wise, while the Gigabyte may have a slower refresh rate, it has a better response time at maximum refresh rate. It delivers a sharper image for fast-moving scenes. The Gigabyte will win if 60Hz is what you are used to gaming at. The Gigabyte boasts wider viewing angles, a greater screen brightness, more features and includes a USB-C input as well as a built-in KVM.
In general, the LG 34GN850B is very similar to the LG 34GP950G. The LG 34GP950G offers a higher refresh rate, and faster response times when gaming at 60Hz. You will also notice a different set of supported gaming technologies. There is also a difference in the supported gaming technologies. For example, the native G-SYNC-compatible 34GP950G monitor supports FreeSync. It might not be advisable to choose the compatible 34GN850B monitor if you are looking to maximize the performance of your graphic card.
While the LG 34GN850B offers similar performance, they each have a little edge depending upon how much you use it. The Gigabyte has a better productivity feature, with a handful of extra office features such as a keyboard video switch and mouse switch. This allows you switch between two different sources from one device. LG is the better option if you are only planning to play gaming. The LG offers a faster refresh rate as well as better motion handling. But it doesn’t have backlight strobing.

A highly recommended gaming monitor, the LG 34GP83A–B Gaming Monitor for 2021 is an extraordinary ultrawide gaming display. It features a large, narrow screen with a bended shape that provides amazing submersion while gaming and vast amounts of ground for working. This device is quick to respond and has low information slack. It can be overclocked to 160 Hz at 144 Hz. To make interactivity smoother and better, it will also have a faster revive rate. The review points are acceptable, great for sharing content or center gaming. However, the picture accuracy is a bit poor when looking from the side. This may not be a problem if you have to share accurate work. Unfortunately, the HDR effect isn’t as effective as it could be to combat glare. Also, the low ratio of contrast causes blacks to appear obscured and dim. Content makers should be happy to learn that the device has full sRGB, great Adobe RGB inclusion, incredible angle taking care, and virtually no shading drain.
