Target will accept unopened and unused clearance item returns. The original receipt must be included with these returns.

Target.com Clearance products can be returned to Target stores using one of the following items: Original receipt, Target App barcode, Target Delivery or Shipping Confirmation email.
Target.com Clearance products can be returned by post if they are not defective.
Some items can’t be returned by mail and are only available in-store.
If your item is not eligible for return, Target.com will notify you.

Are Clearance Items Returnable to Target without a Receipt
You can return clearance items to Target without a receipt if you can provide alternative proof of purchase.
Target can find your order online if you made the purchase via Target RedCard, Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Discover, personal check, or Target gift card (which you must have retained).
Cash purchases can’t be tracked.
If you prefer, you may also be able to access the digital barcode/receipt from Target.com. This will allow for proof that your clearance purchase was made online or over the app.
If you do not have any proof of purchase you will be issued a’merchandise card’ to return the money.
Target.com does not accept this coupon.
You will be required to show a government-issued photo ID in all cases before your return can be accepted.
Can I Return Holiday And Seasonal Clearance Items At Target?
Target will accept returns on holiday or seasonal clearance items. However, these items could have altered return policies than Target’s standard.
Additionally, customers who shop online will find that seasonal or holiday clearance items are possible to return in-store. However, due the seasonal nature these items, they won’t be eligible for a refund of their current clearance price.
Target allows price adjustment on clearance items
Target cannot make price adjustments on clearance merchandise, although you are allowed to return the items within 90 day.
If you buy a Target clearance item for $2, and it is reduced in price to $1 a week later, the adjustment would not be eligible as a partial reimbursement due to clearance status.
Target puts items on clearance every day.
Target shoppers have suggested on forums that Target might offer different products for clearance every day from Monday to Thursday.

How Can I Buy Clearance Items At Target?
Clearance products can be often found in department end caps in store (often facing the wall). It is not usual to see clearance shelves on the central walking aisles.
